February 19 - 22, 2009
The Mid-Atlantic Association for Language Learning Technology

The Mid-Atlantic Association for Language Learning Technology ( MAALLT), a regional
affiliate of the International Association for Language Learning Technology (IALLT), encompasses the United States and districts of Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C.  Both academic and non-academic institutions in this region are associated with the organization and enjoy the benefits it brings.

Washington and Lee University , the nation's ninth oldest university, was founded in 1749 and named after two scholars and generals who had a significant impact on the institution. George Washington's generous financial contribution of stock in the James River Canal still pays a portion of every student's current tuition. Robert E. Lee, the Civil War general who spent his final days as president of the college, instituted the core principles which to this day guide the University  in upholding  the ideals of higher education in the liberal arts.
